Description

This training is designed to provide an overview of stimulant use disorder for all healthcare organization staff including providers, nurses, counselors and other non-clinical staff. The training reviews stigma, identifying stimulant overdose, managing acute stimulant intoxication, de-escalation techniques, and evidence-based treatment for people who use stimulants.

To be eligible for CEUs, you must have your camera turned on so we can see you during the training.

Objectives

Following this training, participants will have the knowledge necessary to:

• Understand the role of psychostimulants in the overdose epidemic and recognize population disparities.
• Recognize signs of stimulant intoxication, overdose (overamping) and withdrawal.
• Identify evidenced-based interventions for acute stimulant intoxication and post-acute care for StUD.
• Describe the basic principles of de-escalation to promote safety for patients with active stimulant use and their caregivers. 
• Identify health risks associated with stimulant use and how to apply harm reduction interventions.
