This training is meant for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) working in the addiction field who are interested in becoming Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) or a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse - Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). As part of the twice-monthly SUD Care Continuum ECHO® series, Judith Austin, MSN, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP, will identify common psychiatric disorders that may be present in persons with substance use disorder and discuss how to initiate and provide patient information on commonly prescribed psychiatric medications. The didactic will be followed by a de-identified patient case presentation from an ECHO® participant and recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.
