This training will provide an introduction to using brief negotiated interviewing (BNI) for alcohol consumption and review the steps involved in this approach. Topic: Cannabis & Nicotine
This training is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge of cannabis use among youth, with a focus on product potency, health outcomes, and harm reduction. Attendees will explore the roles of THC and CBD in determining the strength and effects of cannabis products commonly used by youth, recall three key health outcomes linked to youth cannabis use, and identify potential risks and adverse effects. The session also introduces foundational strategies to help mitigate the harms associated with youth cannabis use.

Topic: ECHO
As part of the twice-monthly SUD Care Continuum ECHO® series, Andrea Jakubowski, MD, MS, will describe the clinical rationale and evidence for initiating long-acting injectable buprenorphine without prolonged sublingual stabilization in people who inject opioids, and discuss practical strategies for initiating, administering, and following patients started on injectable buprenorphine. The didactic will be followed by a de-identified patient case presentation from an ECHO® participant and recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.

This training aims to increase learners’ understanding of kratom prevalence, misuse patterns, and clinical management. The activity provides evidence-based content that enables healthcare providers to accurately characterize kratom use, recognize signs and symptoms of kratom intoxication and withdrawal, and understand associated health risks.
